Minority Scholarship

The following scholarships are offered to minority students in the College :
  • Talent Support Program/Talent Search Program
  • Post Matric Scholarship

Talent Support Program/Talent Search Program :

Under the Talent Support Program, students who have secured less than 50% aggregate marks in the H.S or equivalent examinations can apply. The annual family income of the applicants is taken as a major criterion for providing scholarships under this program. Preference is given to students having annual family income below 2 lacs. In 2016-17 academic session all total 14 students (7 from B.A. courses and 7 from B.Sc. courses) from different departments in the college have applied for the scholarship.

Post Matric Scholarship :

Under the Post Matric Scholarship, students who have secured more than 50% marks in their HS level or equivalent examinations are eligible to apply. Similar to Talent Support Program, here also the annual family income of the applicant is considered to one of the major criteria. Priority is naturally given to those having annual family income below 2 lacs. All total 45 students (28 From B.A. Courses and 11 from B.Sc. Courses) from different departments applied for this scholarship in the Academic Session 2016-2017.

Financial Assistance from the College:
The college also offers one-time financial assistance to the needy students solely for purchase of text and reference books. The applicants apply for the assistance declaring their annual family income and providing their 10+2 Examination marksheet to the college. The college authority along with the Students Welfare Committee members decide the number of awardees conducting an interview of the applicants. In the academic session 2016-2017 all total 13 students from different departments have got the financial assistance under this head from the college.

Fee-Concession Facilities:
Apart from different scholarships there is also provision for applying for Full free Studentship or Half free studentship in the college. Students securing more than 60% marks in the Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations are eligible for the award of free studentship. Girl students securing 50% marks in the Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination are eligible for half – free studentship. Selection of the awards of fee- concession will be based strictly on the basis of the student’s financial condition subject to approval from Director of Public Instruction.

In the academic session 2016-2017, the total number of applicants from different departments for full free and half free studentships were 14 in number.
