MINORITY SCHOLARSHIPS (under Aikyashree Program)

The following shemes of scholarship are offered to minority students in the College under the Aikashree Program (100% state funded) started from 2018-19 academic session based on marks obtained in heir last final examination:

  • Post Matric Scholarship
  • Swami Vivekananda Scholarship

Status of applications under Aikyashree Scholarship from the college
  • Talent Support Program/Talent Search Program (TSP):
    Under the Talent Support Program, students who have secured less than 50% aggregate marks in the H.S or equivalent examinations can apply. The annual family income of the applicants is taken as a major criterion for providing scholarships under this program. Preference is given to students having annual family income below 2 lacs. In 2019-20 academic session all total 21 fresh candidates from different courses (B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com.) from different departments in the college applied for the scholarship. In 2020-21 academic session all total 17 candidates from different courses (B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com.) from different departments in the college applied for this scheme under Aikashree scholarship.
  • Post Matric Scholarship:
    Under the Post Matric Scholarship, students who have secured more than 50% marks in their HS level or equivalent examinations are eligible to apply. Similar to Talent Support Program, here also the annual family income of the applicant is considered to one of the major criteria. Priority is naturally given to those having annual family income below 2 lacs. All total 234 fresh students from different departments under different courses(B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com.) applied for this scholarship in the Academic Session 2019-2020. In 2020-21 session, 237 applicants were there from different streams viz. Science, Asts and Commerce and includes both fresh and renewal cases.
  • Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Minority Students (SVMCM):
    Under this scholarship program, financial assistance to the meritorious students of West Bengal, pursuing higher studies is provided. The Minority students of Post Madhyamik levels and onwards in regular courses including Polytechnic courses, who are resident in West Bengal and studying in educational institutions of this state after passing out in Current year(2020) from the State Board/Council of Secondary/Higher Secondary and Madrasah Education may apply for this scholarship (SVMCM for Minorities). The total number of fresh applicants under SVMCM was 24 from different courses viz. B.Sc., B.A. & B.Com. in 2019-20 session. In 2020-21, the total number of fresh applicants under SVMCM was 33 from different courses viz. B.Sc., B.A. & B.Com.
